Butterfly Dessert Cafe charts the metamorphosis of Lai Leng, who emerged from the chrysalis of her corporate career to find a new life as a cafe founder. For now, her parlour is a purveyor of primarily fruit-based plated indulgences - a layered trifle of orange & mango mousse that's rich with fresh, fleshy fruits (RM25; for two or three friends to share), a deconstructed strawberry opera cake with a centrepiece of almond joconde & sponge cake, strawberry cream, strawberry-coated almonds, strawberry jelly, strawberry syrup, dark chocolate ganache, & chantilly cream (RM35) & coconut-passionfruit mousse with house-made ice cream that conveys a potent flavour of coconut, textured with nutty crumbs & meringue cookies (RM22). Pair with a beat-the-heat coupling of iced mocha (RM14) & dark chocolate (RM11). All in all, a place to hide out for sweet-toothed Sri Petaling residents, with easy-listening renditions of, say, How Can You Mend A Broken Heart wafting from the speakers.
